What Do You Know?
You have to get at least an 80% on the test to become legal. How well could you do?
I managed to pass the test so does that mean I get to retain my American status?
Here's the link to the test if you'd like to see how smart you are.

YAWN!
So, in honor of my laziness, I am going to share a morning cartoon that I have on my computer that totally fits my feelings this morning.

That said, I'm off to work on that "shine" part.

My Belly Button Busted!
What happened is that my belly button did indeed bust. Weird huh?
Well it all started with a painful bump beneath my belly button but one fateful day the bump burst forth and started oozing out my button. I got sick and was in pain.
The worst part of this is, there are two parts of my body that you do NOT touch. One is my toe nails and the other is, you guessed it, my belly button. I realize that these are completely random and strange places to freak about but woe to the person who tries that type of torture on me. It'll have me in "kick and scream" mode in a matter of seconds.
So to have a very sore, very yucky belly button is not my idea of a party. Not only is it sore but I detest having someone dig in it, which they did. I had to go have it cleaned and all I can say is I praise God Vince was home to hold me afterwards.
Thinking on it, I have had two bad infections in my life that had to be medically dealt with, resulting in torturous doctoring techniques. The first was in grade school when I had an ingrown toenail that just got worse and worse until I couldn't walk. Now this. The two places I hate messed with just HAPPENS to be the two places I've been tortured. Go figure.
The update on my problem is that, according to the doctor, I have an epidermal cyst that burst. It is still leaking but not as bad. The pain has gone away almost completely although the bump is still there (just much smaller).
I praise God that it is getting better. The pain has gone away really quickly so I know that God has had His hand on this. I know because I've spent lots of time praying about it, or really whining, about it to Him. I know He hears and understands and I can feel His touch. I can also feel Him helping me be a big girl when all I want to do is wiggle and scream everytime I have to wash it out.

Somebody Bring Me My Bunny Slippers!
Today is the perfect day to spend the afternoon walking around with fuzzy, pink, floppy-eared animal shoes. Don't you think?
Okay, maybe it's not for everyone, but today I need a little more whimzy and a little less stress so, bunny slippers please.
Too bad I don't own a pair. I do have an adorable pair of turtle slippers and to be fair their little turtle feet flop nicely but I need more on a day like this.
Don't ask me why I feel the need to suddenly shove my feet into a cute little bunny. There really is no intelligent rational for such a weird desire, I just, well, want to.
I'm writing this down so all of you will understand that the last weeks have left me slightly crazy. Considering I've refrained from running to Walmart and impulsivly purchasing the said bunny slippers I guess you could say there is hope. Maybe this is fleeting and soon my desire for pink fuzz around my toes will have "hopped" away. (Sorry, couldn't resist that.)
Well, I'm really not sure what to follow all that with so, um, I'll talk to you soon.

What I'm Up To Now
I've kept you fairly informed by sentence long snippets and pictures and unfortunately that will probably be the way of things for most of the summer. I will try to do better but we shall see.
I am in Kansas again helping out my mom. We are getting ready for a garage sale this weekend and let me tell you, we have accumulated a lot of junk over the years and a significant portion of it is mine.
Garage Sales are a lot of work but hopefully we will at least purge the house of a few useless items and things that should have been chucked years ago. I'm sure there is someone in Neodesha just waiting to buy our junk and take it home to be stashed somewhere until they have a garage sale where they will dig it out and think, "where did I get this and why did I feel the need to purchase such an item". Thus is the cycle of stuff.
One really cool thing that has happened since I've been here is that I got to see my dear friend Angie who I haven't seen since her wedding day 2 YEARS AGO! She got hitched and headed to Florida as far away from me as possible. It was so good to see her. We got to go to our old haunt, Kings Coffee Shop in Dearing, KS. We had a wonderful evening of drinking coffee and playing catch-up. I so wish I would have gotten a picture of us but oh well.
Last night Vince, mom and I went to the Independence park and played mini-golf. We had a nice time and the weather wasn't unbearably warm. That might not seem like a huge deal but in Kansas in July, it really is. The cool part about playing mini-golf on that course is that it only costs $1 a person to play and that's a fun, cheap way to spend the evening. And I don't want to brag but ah, I won the game. Oh yeah, I'm good!
Well, that's pretty much the rundown of what's been going on. Hope that was an exhilarating reading experience for you all.

I'm Baaaaack!
I would give you the lengthy play-by-play but there is just no way I could. I wouldn’t do it justice.
We spent a few days just kickin’ back, enjoying family time and doing things like fishing in the pond near the house and walking around the lake nearby.
For our anniversary (June 18), Vince and I headed to the coast for two days. Words can’t say how beautiful it was or how much fun we had. It was a dream trip.
When we got back we spent a day with mom and dad at the zoo, then Marissa and Erik came up from Tri-cities to spend the weekend with us. It was a huge blessing to be able to spend time with them. We had the whole family together and it was a blast!
Our time went by too fast and before you know it, we were getting on our flight for home. It was hard to say goodbye because I know it might be awhile before we see them again. And because every time I’m up there I fall a little bit more in love with the Pacific Northwest.

He's My King!
While on the trip, we went to church with the family. During the service they played this video. I really liked it and came home to do a youtube search. I am pleased to announce that I found it and it’s now being shown here.
Girls Day Out
Here are some pics of that day.

The Hunt Is On
I have hunted far and wide (or at least as far as the local walmart and TJ Maxx) for one and here are my findings.
Finding 1- It is impossible to find a modest one piece that doesn’t a. look hideously ugly b. come only in plus sizes c. isn’t $50.00.
All suits in my size that are decent looking and a good price just happen to be two pieces. Does everyone who isn't plus size want a two piece but me? I doubt that. Does everyone think it’s okay to pay over $20 for a scrap of material that you can only wear half the year? (Unless you are in MI and then its only 2 months of the year.) I doubt that too.
Finding 2- Hunting for a swimsuit is a longer process than I intended and one that I’m ready to give up on out of sheer discouragement and respect for our pocketbook.
Finding 3- I'm really picky.
All I’m looking for is a nice, reasonably priced, modest swimsuit. I’m not suggesting we go back to this

But why can’t we have a modern but modest style that the average person can afford and feel comfortable in that still looks stylish and not like you dropped out of a time warp?
So the question is, where do I compromise? Do I chuck modesty, style or price? None of those sound like something I want to compromise but what's a girl to do?
You know what's going to happen though, I'm going to actually find one that I like that fits all the above criteria and then it won't get warm enough to swim all year. Yep, that's what will happen. Now I realize that true Michiganians will swim in weather that would leave me cold, shaking and slightly blue but I just don't see that as a fun time. I need the temp to be at least 90 so I guess I've got awhile to keep up the search cause 90 prolly won't happen here for awhile.

Please, Help!
The quote is-
Please give me your thoughts as to what Bible verse this would best fit by. I'd like to throw this scrap of paper away and have the note permenently written where it belongs.

Happy Michiversary To us!
In the beginning, I think both of us were strongly questioning our wisdom in moving here but now we are convinced it was the right move for us.
A lot has happened in our time here, some good and some bad, but the good has outweighed the bad in a big way. Looking back at what the year has brought us all I can say is "God sure is good."
So Happy Michiversay to us and here's to looking forward to God's continued blessing and guidance, be it here or elsewhere.
