Harvest Fest 2008

Last night we went to the Harvest Fest that our church puts on. They do this every year on Halloween and it's always a lot of fun. Definitely a better way to spend this "holiday" than how most chose to.
This year we spent the evening at a farm that had a corn maze and space that we could take over and party like all good baptists can.
The events of the evening included a chili cook-off, getting lost in the corn maze with a group of teenage girls (it was almost dark by the time we made it out), a hay ride and other small activities for the children.
As the sun was sitting we all found a seat and ate and talked and ate some more. We sure have some good cooks at our church (and some pretty good talkers.)
After darkness settled in and the stars began twinkling in the sky we all huddled around the fire and had a worship service. This was a time of singing, testimonies and a small challenge from our pastor on peace.
Now I ask you, is there a better way to close out an evening (especially Halloween) than to lift up your hearts and voices to God under a clear sparkling sky, feeling Him especially close as you look up into the night and see His glory displayed above?
